Prof. Saravana Jaikumar is Associate Professor in Marketing, at IIM Calcutta. He is a Fellow (Ph.D.) of Marketing from IIM Ahmedabad and MBA from Cardiff Business School, UK. His research work has been published in reputed international journals including Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, Marketing Letters and Journal of Product and Brand Management. His interest in research includes pricing, pharmaceutical price regulation, and consumer behavior at the 'bottom of the pyramid'. His research work is mainly quantitative in nature and includes applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to resolve marketing issues.
Workshop Rationale
Artificial Intelligence is transforming academic practices by empowering both teaching and research with intelligent, data driven tools. In teaching, AI enhances classroom effectiveness through personalized learning, automated assessments, interactive simulations, and real-time performance tracking. Educators can use AI to create adaptive lesson plans, provide immediate feedback, and promote deeper student engagement. In research, AI accelerates literature review, data analysis, plagiarism detection, and identification of emerging research trends, reducing time and improving accuracy. This workshop will explore how AI can strengthen academic excellence by integrating innovative teaching methods with advanced research capabilities.
